Hawaii to DC
Can you imagine planning a wedding 4,800 miles away? Sarah and Brian did it.
They met 10 years ago while studying at Johns Hopkins and lived in DC shortly after. Being Brian is a doctor in the Army, it was a pack-it-up and relocate sooner than they thought. If you have to move far, I suppose Hawaii is the place to be. While at one of their favorite places to walk their Great Dane Zetta, Brian popped the question while Sarah was distracted taking a picture.
So one day I received a message from Sarah mentioning she saw Lindsay and Nick’s Highlight and wanted to know more. We exchanged a few emails and after hearing the story, and knowing it would be so important to have this filmed, I was excited. Being away for so long in Hawaii, this wedding had feelings of a reunion because they hadn’t seen friends and family in quite some time.
The clouds danced around throughout the day, finally touching down right when the ceremony was about to start. Only a short blip on the radar, we wiped down the chairs and the wedding bells carried on with a quick rainbow in the sky. The Little Lodge at Seneca Creek’s rustic cabin type feel was so cozy inside and scenic outside.
The few days after the wedding, Amy Copeland, their engagement photographer in Hawaii reached out and asked if I could supply video footage for their back home mini-celebration. I then tasked myself to complete their edit as a surprise so they could watch with friends. I think everyone enjoyed it, Sarah and Brian was pleasantly surprised and it all worked out.
